Summer Camp

After careful consideration NCCP has decided not to run camp this summer as the health and safety of everyone in our community is important to us.

We hope that you will keep us in mind for next summer!

Summer Camp

Priority registration is given to current and incoming NCCP families. Any available spaces will be made available to the public in March.

Enrollment for our summer camp is not a guarantee. There are 26 spots available per session, on a first-come, first-served basis!

This summer we are offering 5-weeks of Summer Camp!

New Canaan Community Preschool offers a wonderful preschool summer camp that is run by
our preschool teachers! Join us as we explore a variety of exciting topics in our outdoor space
which includes two playgrounds, a garden, and a Nature Path. Campers cool down daily during
sprinkler time!

NCCP is proud to offer five 1-week camp sessions from mid-June through July. Each session
meets Monday – Friday, 8:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. with a special focus on a theme. We offer a
four-day or a five-day option. Children who are three by June 1st of the current year and are
potty-trained are eligible to attend summer camp.

To register, please contact Giselle Coven at gcoven@nccpreschool.org or (203) 966-3010.

2022 Topics

Week OneGarden Green Thumb
(June 20 – 24)

Join us for a special mission to save the world! We will be exploring what it means to go green through many hands-on experiences. The children will learn the three R’s; reduce, reuse, and recycle as they use recycled materials creatively to make artistic masterpieces. We will also be working in our garden to learn about planting, composting, and harvesting. Our goal is to have the children learn about and respect the natural world around them as they become Green Crusaders!

Week TwoOnce Upon a Story
(June 27 – July 1)

Once upon a time, there were stories such as The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and Where the Wild Things Are. Throughout the week, the children will be exploring several classic stories and bringing them to life by acting them out, creating props, and using flannel board pieces. Each child will also have the opportunity to become the author of their very own story by writing and illustrating their own book.

Week ThreeBringing Art to Life
(July 11 – 15)

Roll up your sleeves and get ready to create! The children will explore a wide range of art mediums that will encourage them to use their creative minds and artistic abilities such as sculpture, watercolors, collage, oil pastels, and paint. Each day we will explore a new way for your artist to create original pieces of art that you are sure to want to frame.

Week FourAll Around Town
(July 18 – 22)

Who are the people and the vehicles in your neighborhood? Children are just beginning to discover the world around them and that begins with their community! Through hands-on experiences, the children will have the opportunity to become community helpers, such as Police Officers, Firefighters, Postal Workers, and Construction Workers. We will also explore their daily routines and the transportation they use.

Week FiveExploring My Five Senses
(July 25 – 29)

Your child will have a sense-sational experience while using their five senses. We will be sightseeing with our eyes, listening with our ears, smelling with our noses, touching with our hands, and tasting with our mouths in order to discover how each sense works individually and together.
